Wellsprings of the Embodied Feminine X: The Soul Beneath the Mask

September 3, 2012 - September 12, 2012

Join us for this deeply renewing 6-day retreat, engaging guidance from within through Authentic Movement, voice, embodied dreamwork, Jungian concepts, and expressive arts. Amidst beautiful gardens, tumbling springs and orange groves we will nurture and strengthen the embodied sacred feminine.

Fairy tales reveal timeless wisdom, providing maps for our individual and collective journeys. Our story “Moonlight at the Well” is a tale full of riches, presenting powerful elements of psyche, body and spirit central to a woman’s individuation.  Our heroine endures a journey of initiation, which carries her to an encounter with an old mountain Hag, the Crone, whom she serves in disguise. Wearing a ‘gray mask’ by day, by night the maiden removes the mask, cleansing herself at the well, where her true face is revealed in the moonlight.  In the process she must ‘face’ her shadow, look at the mask she wears which disguises her true self, and discover her soul illuminated in the well’s silvery waters.
